UPDATE for June 27, 2024: Service Recovery Continues in Flood-Impacted Areas
BNSF teams continue to make progress in restoring service to flood-impacted areas across parts of Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota as the storms affecting the region moved out of the area. Thanks to the efforts of our BNSF teams and contractors, the Canton, Madison and Corson Subdivisions have reopened and our Marshall Subdivision is expected to return to service this weekend. Speed restrictions and more frequent track inspections will remain in place where necessary across the impacted areas.
BNSF continues to re-route trains as much as possible to minimize service impacts as crews address the affected track. Some areas will require more extensive repairs following the widespread damage caused by the flooding, and customers should expect lingering delays as recovery efforts continue and service begins to normalize.

Temporary embargoes remain in place to help manage traffic flows during ongoing restoration and recovery efforts. Additional information can be found on the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Embargo Railinc website here (enter "BNSF" in the Issuing Road field to view active embargoes). Permit requests for permitted embargoes can be submitted through this online form.
